I believe that anything is possible.
However, I’m the daughter of a single mom from a working class family. I know that if children don’t have the right role models, it’s hard for them to figure out what they should do with their lives and kow how to enter their chosen industry.
It’s this lack of role models that inspired me to start blogging about my observations and learnings, and interview people about their paths, highlighting how they created their careers.
Next to sustainability, I have in-depth knowledge about personal finance. I was 16 when I moved out and 17 when I started living by myself. Throughout high school and university, I had up to three jobs at the same time. As early as 16, I worked at a call center, started waitressing, took on any and every job I could get my hands on – from dancing in a coffee cup costume at a petrol station to manually entering vast amounts of data into a football database. Life’s not always a fairy tale and that’s why I choose to openly talk about finance and what I’ve learned about making a career in the creative industries.
